5.11 Tactical Rush 12 Backpack Review – Field Tested, Multi-Purpose EDC Tactical Pack

5.11 Rush 12 bag is not too huge and superbly organized making sure that it fits all of my EDC gear. I use the large major compartment for my personal computer 14″ laptop computer and a weapon. In particular I really like the mesh pockets within the main compartment which really keep my gear organized. The craftsmanship and materials are also top degree, so you can use it for a considerably long time.

The RUSH 12 Tactical Laptop Backpack is a high-performance pack that performs multiple tasks, from a tactical laptop backpack, a hunting backpack to an emergency go-bag. Sixteen total compartments provide many storage choices, each one sized for specific use.

A considerable wrap-around web platform is usually MOLLE and SlickStick compatible, allowing one to customize the storage in the case.

Field Testing the 5.11 RUSH 12 Pack

After nearly 2 years of constant use, my 5.11 Tactical Rush 12 still appears to be new. It holds my own 14″ inch Laptop and other EDC gear with great ease. Since this pack is not designed as a tactical laptop backpack, I always keep my neoprene personal computer sleeve to safeguard my laptop in the main compartment.

It has great organization pockets and comfortable straps, easy to customize together with MOLLE add-ons. I have also added a carabiner on the molle webbing over to admin pocket making sure that I can certainly attach the actual cord from the top pocket to it. This ensures the top pocket cannot get wide open accidentally. You may do the same with the actual admin pocket. If you want to compare RUSH 12 vs RUSH 24, read its review here.

Conclusion

rush 12 laptop pack

This was intended to be a 12-hour backpack (hence the name Rush 12) yet it can pack sufficient gear for several days. I’m currently using it as an Tactical Laptop Pack but it can also be used as a Cheap Bug Out Bag.

If you want to get a backpack that can serve a number of purposes and is cheap, go for RUSH 12.

It’s smaller enough to get convenient for everyday and still has plenty of capacity for bugging out with its MOLLE add-ons. I’m sure I am using that for years. You get what we pay for and this is a tough, well planned, quality multi-purpose tactical backpack.
